Goal

The project goal is to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of Destinations and related tourism MSMEs in the Latin American and Caribbean Region through a market driven systemic approach.

Purpose

The purpose is to replicate a proven MSME focused destination management methodology to provide the opportunity for MSMEs to increase revenue through improved access to markets.

Components

  • Access to Markets – Geotourism Destination Development Process (GDDP): 1.1 Construct and launch the LAC Explorer 1.2 Demonstrate the Geotourism process in at least 2 select destinations
  • DMO Capacity Strengthening – Destination Diagnostic and Capacity Building: 2.1 Construct and launch the Geo-referenced Destination Inventory Platform  (Geo-DIP)   2.2 Construct and launch the Online Dynamic Destination Diagnostic Tool   2.3 Build and pilot Destination Management e-Learning Program
  • Rollout of GDDP & dissemination and maintenance of DMO tools: 3.1 Create Business Plans for each of the new solutions   3.2 Dissemination of the new solutions
