Lima
March 07, 2014, 08:30 - March 07, 2014

This event marks the closing of a successful partnership between the Multilateral Investment Fund of the Inter-American Development Bank, Mibanco, the government of Australia, Goldman Sachs Foundation, and Thunderbird School of Global Management, which  invested in women entrepreneurs in Peru through two progams: one which taught basic business skills to 100,000 women; the other a more intensive Certificate program for established small and medium business owners.

Following an introductory session with remarks by notable people in attendance and a keynote address from Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, the event will present personal testimonials from women who participated in the project, whose inspiring stories will frame the event's discussions and panels.

Furthermore, there will be a session that focuses on different perspectives on how changes in public policy might offer to better support women entrepreneurs. The discussions will be brief and concrete, picking up on the morning’s lessons and detailing action points to be carried out by public and private actors.

The MIF's General Manager, Nancy Lee will participate in this event and will give remarks on the benefits of investing in women entrepreneurs for both women and development in Peru.
